BUTTONS!!!

“excited squeal”!!!!!

So exciting. I don’t think I ever showed you my button hair slides but we’ve moved on, now, we do RINGS. How exciting.

The rings are from a joint called Buttons and Beads Galore or something along those lines, [High st Prahran for Melbournites, near the corner with Chapel] which is a treasure trove though the buttons are RATHER EXPENSIVE. Most of my buttons are from good ol’ Lincraft or Darn Cheap Fabrics and yes. I’m rather pleased with the results. A white apple and a large black one with gold trim coming soon.

WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

My love for buttons is catching up with my love for cupcakes. Yeah thats right, I said it.

I could’ve dragged this out.

But I didn’t so here is one massive post made up of lots of little tid bits from my day.

********************************************************************************************

Wish and you shall receive! There are several cd’s I want at the moment but how excited was I when my mum brought home one of them today*.

Summer at Eureka is Pete Murray’s new one and so far I love You Pick Me Up [single], Chance To Say Goodbye [track 1] and Happy Ground [11 - last].
Funny that I like the first and the last. Good track arranging Pete ol’ boy. Good times are afoot people. update: I also like 6; Sugar.

I included this cause I couldn’t find one of the album
and I couldn’t be bothered taking my own.

That, and its just a cool photo.

*******************************************************************************************

OH and I FOUND MY CAMERA. How exciting. Funnily enough taking pics for this wee blog is not its only use so I am quite ecstatic to have found it. Excellent timing though cause I’m now on swot vac and thus am only leaving the house for work or short unplanned outings. Thus outfit posting will probably be minimal. But you weren’t expecting anything better were you. Today, for example I left the house in my year 12 rugby jumper from school. I know, I was shocked too.
*******************************************************************************************
Currently in the process of painting my nails a sad thing has caught my attention. My favourite nail polish is almost dead. It is a sad day. I think this is the second nail polish I’ve ever actually finished in my life. Its only about 4 months old!. Maybe 5. But still. You know why, its cause its recently become my sisters favourite nail polish too. RUDE. Maybe she should buy the next one. Or if I get a darker one she won’t wear it. I want a darker one anyway really. Yay, problem solved. Not that I can afford ANYTHING these days but OH WELL I’ll just put it on the to get list thats not getting any shorter any time soon.
*******************************************************************************************
Today I…
* knitted till my wrist hurt! Old injury, new aggravation. Damnit!
* did a surprising amount of chemistry revision. I’m the worlds worst studier did I mention? I impressed myself today :).
* made more button rings, my sister got more rings yay, I’ll take pics on my newly found camera soon, my nails are half done atm would NOT be cute.
*******************************************************************************************

RIP YSL @ 71 :(

I Absolutely Have To Take Off My Nail Polish NOW.

No my names not Lola. Or Charlie for that matter*.

In other news while waiting for the bus today** this sweet bike was chained to the pole with the timetable on it you know the one. Yeah. And cause I had nothing better to do I took piccys on my phone, some were zoomed and some not so I’ve standardised the size [gotta love photoshop] but please forgive any blurriness.

How cool would it be to ride up to uni on this. If only I lived that close to uni/owned said bike/could be bothered cycling to uni when its as cold and, as you can see, wet as it was today.

* Apologies to those who’ve got no idea what I mean, get some Lauren Child books IMMEDIATELY. They’ve kids books but they’re great.
** waiting for a bus that NEVER CAME I was not amazingly early to work as I thought I would be because I had to catch a tram to the train and eugh.

UPDATE in the what I wore today saga I seem to have created, I CAN’T FIND MY CAMERA. NO SHIT. *tears*. Anyway, today I wore a top from topshop my sister got me overseas, jeans by seduce, a jacket by bardot and HIGHLY INAPPROPRIATE FOOTWEAR. It had yet to rain properly when I left my house. Peep toe flats made of material are NOT wet weather shoes, believe me.

“I’m just an ass, in the crack, of humanity.”

Spicy yellow duck curry with rice in a roti wrap, followed by bread and butter pudding with raspberries, made with coconut bread. What more could you want for dinner? Ask my stomach and it’ll tell you, not much. Really, I don’t think anything else would fit.

God that made me sound fat.
******************************************************************************************
GUESS WHAT! Today, I really liked my outfit, and I mean A LOT. Which is something of a novelty these days. But did I take a piccy for yall? Nope. I think the moral of the story is, if I don’t do so before I leave the house, it’s just never going to happen. Today involved a thrifted cream skirt I just rediscovered, it has pockets(!!!) teamed with black and navy and wow, I’m getting excited just thinking about it. It was so good, I may recreate it in the near future and I PROMISE* I’ll document it for you if I do.
******************************************************************************************
songs for sunday
Pick Me Up - Pete Murray [new single finally, there's an album to match!]
Ride Bikes With You - The Moldy Peaches [title is quote from this song. love it.]
The Doldrums - Josh Pyke [still not over it]
Rilo Kiley - Silver Lining
Heal Me - Lior
* ‘PROMISE’ is far more concrete than ‘promise’ seems to be I PROMISE

Because life isn’t worth living…

…if your socks don’t have cupcakes on them!!!

Gotta love topshop. And I’ve never even been in to one of their stores. It’ll happen one day and from that day on I will be poor. NOTE: the red cherry’s are in SPARKLY THREAD. When my mum gave my these upon returning from overseas I nearly fainted at their perfection. Oh, and I ate a really awesome cupcake the other day, I’ll be getting another one and I shall take a pic for you, they’re pretty cute. But what cupcake isn’t.
Wow, a post entirely about cupcakes Gala* would be proud.
Just so you all** know I’ve been a bit sick all week which is turning out to be some virus that may or may not prevent posting, it’ll probably slow it down and don’t expect many if any what I wore today posts cause fashion is not a priority*** when I feel this crap. So, nice to meet you anyway, come again if you feel like it.
*iCing run by Gala at www.galadarling.com. She has a cupcake fetish also.
**I mean all in the loosest construct of the word. This is me pretending theres actually someone, let alone multiple people, reading this.
***I cannot believe those 5 words left my mouth in that order. Gasp.

My Daily[ish] ’shot of academic adrenalin’

Title cred to Justin Heazlewood, writer of the article ‘dear blog…’ in the current issue of frankie. magazine. I absolutely uncategorically LOVE this magazine. I’m TERRIBLE with superfluous spending in that even if I’m not buying clothes I still spend too much money on food, COFFEE, alcohol, petrol etc. One of these expenditures was magazines and with a cut down on all of these categories I haven’t bought one in AGES. It was a trial. But I managed. Just. Until yesterday. With an undoubtedly long wait in a waiting room ahead of me I bit the bullet. I looked at Russh and the free napoleon nail polish coming with madison but my trusty frankie was calling my name. It was SO worth it. I LOVE Marieke Hardy who also writes in the Green Guide [Entertainment supplement of The Age, national newspaper] AND co hosts the morning show on triple j which is coincidentally my favourite radio station.

BUT back to Justin Heazlewood’s article, the whole thing is so damned quoteable I dont even know what to share with you my little cupcakes! I think I’ll tantilise your taste buds with the little bold intro;
“Dear Blog, Today I did this and said that and made this private joke and generally my grammar was terrible and I got myself into a situation with no dramatic tension or character arcs and I guess you had to be there *SUBMIT*”
Gold. Pure Gold.
