Things I’m grateful for:

- New Kings of Leon CD. Thank god for friends who actually buy music.
- this editorial [i haven't seen it in real life, thank god for blogs such as camille's!] My sister would DIE, and I mean DIE for that yellow rose ring. There’s something indescribable about it but these sorts of things are what make me love fashion more and more every day.
- Weather that makes me smile. Just don’t let me get sunburnt, or too hot. Not a summer fan, but spring rocks my world.
- blog views. despite the deeply self indulgent nature of this blog, knowing that theres a chance other people are reading this makes me smile.
- assignments with a 2000 word equivalent. Fkn. A.
- new stuff. vintage finds coming soon

Things I’m not grateful for:

- Having my wallet stolen for the second time in 2 months, but this time it didn’t have any money in it. Just a necklace with two 18th gifts on it including a tiffany ring all my friends got together to buy me. Almost cried.
- Friends who put in no effort but are awesome and fun when we’re together
- Friends who are selfish and think the world revolves around them and need to grow up. [These 2 are about different people]
- Chemistry. Nuff said.

Other things I’m happy about:

- this blog letting me say whatever the hell I want to say with no repercussions in my non-virtual life.
- this outfit:

dress/top by mink pink
jumper dress by target, from savers
vintage belt and sunnies
bag by red berry
shoes from topshop.com [now available in purple *gulp*]

My hair smells nice.

And I met a nice boy the other night. I just felt the need to share. This is not a regular occurance.

New additions to my blogroll:

Flying Saucer - I found myself regularly clicking on her link when on my already favourited blogs. So I favourited her herself. Yay.

Susie Bubble
- She’s still not my absolute favourite which is why I’ve waited this long but I do like to read her perspective on stuff so yes. *bookmark*

Childhood Flames
- see reason for flying saucer.

As you can see the studying is going reeeeally well at the moment. Couldn’t tear me away.

Well blow me down with a feather.

The jumpsuit trend. Not one I ever considered myself…considering. BUT if I were to do so [which face it I'm not but you know, for the sake of the blog and what not] it would be this one.

*sigh*

Intersting observation number ?

I’ve realised that several of the earlier blogs I ‘discovered’ no longer interest me as much. With a few exceptions of course but mostly I’m finding more blogs with whoms personal style I identify more and thus I enjoy reading them more. It’s come to the point where it seems the style is almost as important as the writing. Exceptions include Winona whom I read for the writing and Gala whom I also read because of the writing even though a lot of her posts now seem to be advice-centric and often make me feel slightly unwell.

I wonder if this is because my style is evolving or if it’s becoming more interesting. For instance a couple of the blogs I have bookmarked make me think why did I bookmark this? whenever I visit said blog. Thus I have several defunct bookmarks. But I did like them ONCE other wise I would’ve never bookmarked them. This is all rather confusing.

Another thing, the blogs I connect with fashion-wise tend to feature fashion that I am not personally able to wear. For example, Rumi and Camille are both stick like figures whose hem lines dazzle me. They both wear heels religiously, I rarely wear heels even when going out. I’m a jeans girl, neither of those two are. This is all very weird. A blog I find to be most entertaining perhaps, is Lulu’s because the writings great and the style is much closer to my own.

And now, because I’m sure it’d be challenging to express how little anyone reading this actually cares, I shall end this post before alientating any potential readers of this blog. There was one on a couple of different days last week… I got a little bit excited I must say.

So if you don’t come back, nice to meet you anyway. If you do though, I swear it’s not always like this. Really.

today i…

- got woken up at 4.45am by my best friend, lets call her Optus [shes a phone person] telling me her boyfriend had a car accident and she had to go pick him up and take him home and got completely freaked out, hence the phone call.

- rolled out of bed at 8.15 [15 mins late] somewhat confused about whether said phone call had taken place, completely lost track of time and almost, ALMOST, missed my train.

- got angry at/confused by my chemistry lecturer [he's an absolute tool] and then actually took something in in biology.

- actually attended a chemistry tute which was useful in explaining to me how to use Hess’ law which isn’t really a law at all

- met up with the random who picked up my phone at uni on friday and called my most recent call which was my other best friend who lives in bendigo [200 kms away peeps, lets call her LD for long distance], how lucky am I.

- the rest isn’t very interesting, spent time with some friends then other friends, hung at Optus’ house for a bit then came home and, for the finale

- GOT 5 OUT OF 12 ON MY MID SEMESTER TEST FOR CHEMISTRY. No shit. I didn’t really do it properly… not at all properly actually. And I did no revision and it was for the first 4 weeks of uni and given we’re in the 7th… I was screwed before I even started. Really quite worrying, but oh well.

************************************************************************************
I also marvelled at the impressive use of a tripod over at www.fashiontoast.com, I know I link her a lot but they’re great photos even if they weren’t using a tripod. And would you look at her boyfriends arms?! Good lord.

I am now pondering the colour I should paint my nails though I think I shall postpone that till tomorrow night because I’m working tomorrow and thats hell on the nails and right now shower and bed is looking mighty fine. I wore a fashionably uninteresting outfit today while in a massive hurry so no photos.
Oh and, highlight of my day, this blogs had 7 visitors in the last 7 days, how thrilling! Even if you’re a one time visitor, twas nice to meet you anyway.
***********************************************************************************
Yesterday I entered the iCing and ModCloth polyvore competition, mainly because polyvore is just so much fun. [visit www.galadarling.com to enter, the post is a few days old now]. Thought I’d post my set here too, just for kicks.
<img width=”400″ src=”http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/img-set/BQcDAAAAAwoDanBnAAAABC5vdXQKFjRLTUt2N0FPM1JHdjVGMnhTYjdGakEAAAACaWQKAWUAAAAEc2l6ZQ.jpg” title=”modcloth sequin heels set” height=”400″ border=”0″ />

It’s a look, not one I’d really wear, but I love the ombre dress and the sequinned heels which are the required modcloth item. I’ve made a few other sets which I might post at some point if I feel so inclined. Gnight all.

Ah ha!!!

I now have bona fide proof that a white blazer isn’t an utterly impractical and stupid purchase!!! WOO HOO. Well, it clearly is, BUT it is also potentially awesome and would allow me to look even a little bit like Lulu of the blog everybody is ugly which I stumbled upon and got an immediate this-is-going-to-be-one-of-my-favourite-blogs moment. I was right. Behold by clicking here.

Now the blazer I found a week or so ago was a bit diff, more dressy in that shiny fabric dress blazers are often made of. Its a discovery I made in Temt which is a chain store here in Aus which is generally crap but has the occasional good thing, you just have to sort through the piles of crap. Everything is under about $50 or $60 so thats pretty awesome. This blazer was originally, I dunno, $40 or $30 but is now $19.95!!!!!!! I KNOW. Another difference between my and Lulu’s blazers, HERS is Helmut Lang and $220USD, and MINE, apart from not being mine yet, is Temt and $19.95. *sigh*

I didn’t buy it. It was the impractical and stupid aspect that cause that. I am now regretting that choice. I might go back. It might not be there, it was on sale and if its not there I might cry. I took some crappy change room pics on my mobile which are, well, crappy mobile pics. [For all the Americans out there mobile=cell...why do you call it that, mobile makes way more sense] However I bluetoothed them to my computer but they are, as previously mentioned, crap.

Crap huh!? Cute blazer though. Hope its still there.

In this photo: [just in case][this just became an unintentional outfit post, score]
white blazer from Temt
purple blouse by Lovely Girl aka random brand sold in little asian-run [they're adorable, they know me] store near my house [also found for roughly double the price in Bardot about a month later, interesting ey!]
cream singlet from Kookai
jeans by Cheap Monday.
[I was on my way home from uni. Melbourne Central is just FAR TOO TEMPTING... haha get it, TEMTing.]

********************************************************************************************

I just wrote a mini essay about an item of clothing I DON’T EVEN OWN. That’s sad. Oh and, those pics I said were coming of my friday night outfit. Yeah didn’t take any. Soz. Though I suppose its more a me soz thing than a you soz thing. I wore a thrifted dress, originally from target with a vintage belt of my mums, black opaques and gold nine west heels I bought for my year 12 formal that I love and don’t wear enough. They make me very tall.

PS: the reason I say they make me very tall is because I’m already quite tall so I really mean it. They are 10cm, I’m 174cm, that means 184cm, ie. taller than the average male. Fun times. Figured I needed to explain that comment as you [non-existent you] don’t actually know me! :)

Irrational Thoughts

Prompted by Camille of the blog Childhood Flames, discovered through one of my favs, Fashion Toast. She [Camille] simultaneously makes me want to run to my room and experiment with outfits involving high heels and tights while holding her down and feeding her doughnuts. [not a typo, thats how we spell it here] Seriously, check out those legs. Yikes.

Also happen to think she’s suicidal for wearing heels, let alone those heels, to university or school or whatever it is she does [she's still a teenager, like...umm... oh yeah, me.] However, heading out tomorrow for a two part evening, the second part of which is country [read: bogan] themed. Don’t think I’ll dress up in that way, I may just dress up! I shall provide pics. Maybe.

***********************************************************************************

I am also currently gripped by a sudden but not very compelling need to clean my desk. Really. Its a disaster zone. I can see a beer, a bag, my glasses, a hat, gloves a scarf and two pairs of sunnies. Yet practically nothing that actually belongs on my desk. I think I shall document this for you all. Yes I know this is boring for you. I don’t really care considering I use the term ‘you’ very loosely given I’m writing this to cyber space, not any specific individual. No offense if theres actually someone reading this though. Haha.

Second ones a close up shot. Just for kicks. I’m such a slob. When I uploaded these pics I found an outfit photo from when I worked…awhile ago, can’t remember. Anyway, it features the shirt I bought from Savers which I think I mentioned and, coincidentally, wore again today.

Shirt from Jacqui E via Savers
Jacket by some noname brand, can’t be bothered checking.
vintage belt
Jeans from MNG
Boots by Sachi. These boots have been very good to me, a tidy $100, I’ve worn and still wear them to bits. One of the few items I own that I see on other people regularly, especially the black ones. But I don’t really care, for once.
Ring from sister, bought in Barcelona. I think. It’s glass and AWESOME.

Extremely thrilled to report that on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday of this week, one person visited this blog. YEE HAW.

Apart from that my life has been exceedingly dull, well, not for me. Uni life is f****** spectacular, the number of people I know has sky rocketed, I find myself with so many acquaintances whose company I enjoy but who I have to make next to no effort to see. I find this to be thoroughly enjoyable.

Found my Miffy t-shirt and thus am wearing it today, I hadn’t told you of its disappearance but it was a cause for serious concern. A Miffy t-shirt is a truly wonderful thing.

Currently at work, it is 5:51 here in Melbourne, I’m closing in exactly 9 minutes, so help any customer who gets between me and the door.

Blog of the Week: I couldnt possibly pick one, therefore we have a tie!!!

Daddy Likey: Winona is so painfully witty I only hope someone can get as much entertainment out of this blog one day as I get out of hers. My personal favourite is Inadvertently Ask Daddy Likey. Genius.

Fashion Toast: Rumi even has an ebay store where you can find some AWESOME vintage clothes she discovers and models with aplomb, awesome personal style.

5:57, must be off, hope to see you again soon, if not, nice to meet you anyway.

Peppermint & Bergamot…

…smell really pretty. Especially together. I’ve mixed together these two essential oils but I have an issue that its an Extremely Potent Combination. Especially the peppermint, has a cooling effect on the skin. My issue is that I don’t know how to dilute it! I can’t use water for obvious reasons and any other oil will have its own scent. Tis a small problem. Smells sooooo good though.

In other news, discovered another new blog today, Fashionologie has great little reviews of THE fashion shows, though I read the whole page in about 10 minutes so its fleeting entertainment.
Also, visit the also-newly-discovered-though-not-as-new Starbucks and Jane Austen tis quite the fun. Love her article of the Vogue Paris girls, they do fashion like no other. Probably why their the Vogue Paris girls isn’t it. Ya.

Download Cold War Kids. Now. Modern Indie rock, love it!

In a completely different genre, The Bird and The Bee. I love Again & Again, Fucking Boyfriend and I Hate Camera. I guess you would call it indie pop, iTunes labels it indie but I have a beyonce knowles song that says its classical. So I wouldn’t put too much faith in that. Not really sure. BUT its great.

My older sister got home from overseas today, she’s been gone for two months so yay, presents were lovely also :). She’s currently sleeping off the jet lag.

Well, thats all for now, I start uni tomorrow so I’ll try and post but I may be tired/dying/extremely busy, so I’m not promising anything. But then, who am I talking to? And, if there is someone reading this, I basically told you don’t expect new posts this week! Well, despite no doubt chasing away the [most likely non-existent] readers if this blog, twas nice to meet you anyway.
