s is…

a) really cold
b) quite tired
c) not enjoying being back at uni
and
d) deciding if her chemistry practical demonstrator looked better before he cut his hair, or now.

These are deep and extremely important observations and insights into my life and psyche. Feel honoured to be sharing in them.

So this outfit cost me about $65.
The shoes, were a gift from my sister.
The belt and bag are both from op shops, my guess would be Savers, and the bag is technically, my sisters, therefore, also free.
The top/dress [unsure lengthwise, though in summer it will probably be ok] and the pants were $30 each!!!

My excitement knows no bounds.

Mostly because the pants were $140 full price. And I love them.
Perhaps not the most flattering pants I could own, as you would’ve seen in the other photo I have which wouldn’t upload. But just think of that as something to look forward to. Cause its 12.24am and well past my bedtime I’m telling you!

blog.com formatter go die, it got so much better recently, new bells and whistles, but it remains that my posts look Nothing Like What They Look Like In The Editor. Which in my opinion, is a BIT OF A FLAW. Maybe I should change background or something, variety is the spice of life after all.

For interested parties, I think the answer to d is before, but all is well, hair grows back.

Damn.

I did nothing today, in fact, I didn’t even get out of bed till just before 3pm. But my hair still needs a wash, so wasteful!

Aaaaaanyway, today my mum brought home a magzine I bought at work the other day and left there and then ended up at the other shop and aaaaah, had to wait 3 days to get it! I actually bought it really late, can’t believe it!

GOTTA.
LOVE.
FRANKIE.

Behold:
For the love of it.

Thats a Q & A with Mystery Jets and a quality comparison of toilet paper. What more could a girl want?

Things That Don’t Need Spellcheck

1. Email address fields.

I mean duh. If its not just your name, which will be ‘misspelt’ anyway, its probably going to include;
a) bad grammar
b) numbers, sometimes in the place of letters
c) unnecessary punctuation and/or underscores
d) all of the above
2. MSN
SERIOUSLY? PC users can [maybe] tune out, cause I’m a mac user and, yes, mac messenger has the squiggly lines. Now, this perhaps is a good thing, because it has slightly reduced the degree to which I butcher the english language on msn, though my use of capital letters is obviously still abysmal. HOWEVER, the fact that even MSN is a misspelling on that thing, reminds me that its being taken a touch too far.

In Totally Unrelated News I received a pair of shoes bought from Topshop online today and I am in love. I’m wearing them right now. May I inform you that I’m also wearing tracksuit pants and a top I regularly wear to bed. *sigh*. I will take a photo of my outfit tomorrow if it kills me, just to show you these shoes. Actually, I think I have posted a pic here from the website, can’t really be bothered checking, woven white leather lace-ups. DEVINE.

And now, because my actual life has been a whirl of working, uni and sleep [still not really healthy bah], I have no other news. The Olympics has also taken up a lot of time recently, checking all my favourite blogs they all have new [to me] posts, tis fun. So, nice to meet you anyway, bye!

bad, shit, awful, horrible, crap, shocking, stinky, stormy, tired, bad, shit, awful…

Get the picture?

Interestingly, if one googles this blog title, this image came up as the third hit. THIRD. Random, much. The first two, weren’t anything I’d post here so I used this one, though one of them did make me feel a lil sick so I suppose that could’ve worked. Was a big breakfast, I hate eggs.

The purpose of this post is partly to continue in the indulgence of my mood, but also to say that due to my current perpetual sickness I’m not sure if I’ll keep posting much. I will try but as I’m back at uni time is once again precious and this blog, self indulgent as it currently is, isn’t a priority. It might be more of a priority if anyone actually read it. If you get my drift.

The reason for my terrible mood is partly a bad mood that I let myself dwell on but can’t be bothered to get myself out of. Totally wiped when all i did today was go to a shop near me having a sale, and work [see: perpetual sickness]. Work was a drainer but the shopping made me happy. Very happy. New things have that effect on me, I need help.

I bought another pair of black heels, I’ve wanted them for ages but were to expensive. And a tshirt and a skirt. I might manage to post them cause I’m excited to wear them. But don’t count on it, cause, like, I KNOW you TOTALLY were.

“I’m like, the definition of LIC GAS”
quote from a book I read recently, young adult fiction called My Side of The Story. Main characters name, Jarold. Shit. Name.

I just signed up for twitter(ssp8) for a uni subject. How potentially cool. Though I’m sure inevitably annoying. The self indulgence of this blog will become even more abundently clear and I’ll end up feeling shit about myself and I won’t even be able to vent about it on here. Serves me right for choosing a subject called Internet Meets Society right?

Think of the new clothing stez. Nice to meet you anyway, I’m not always this…shit.

you lazy little swine

title cred: Arctic Monkeys - ‘Dancing Shoes’
You don’t really need to hear the thought process behind that decision but I’m quite impressed. I managed to combine shoes and laziness in one blog title.
The laziness refers to the serious lack of posting recently. My bad. Slightly more going on at chictopia. s_s, thats me!
The shoes refers to the fact that I’m currently wearing the heels I bought today in an effort to decide if I should wear them dancing tomorrow night. My heads thinking me no, my hearts saying yes. Who shall winnnnn?

I’m wearing them with socks cause its more comfortable, definitely need tights for the first wearage. This creates a very interesting picture because, as usual, I’m wearing odd socks [I seem incapable of anything but in general] and I needed thin ones so the shoes weren’t too tight. Behold:

The sock on the left was a promotion from work*, there was a book that was called chicken socks and during the lead up my mum[manager] managed to get a pair of socks. They didn’t match, knee high… generally awesome.
The one on the right is from these socks we actually sold** which came in sets of 3 mismatching socks. Idea being you can never find a pair so why bother trying. Genius. Another side of the socks with heels trend isn’t it?
Shoes are from Zu btw, on sale for $50! Not sure what the full price was but I’m not complaining! 1 of 5 items from my shopping spree today, first one in AWHILE, was great fun. Love bridge rd, there was a shop selling nothing over $20. These shoes were the most expensive thing I bought! Wheeee. Ok steph, stop wittering now. *breath* delirious through fatigue, I do apologise. Nice to meet you anyway!

* its a bookshop
** that sells lots of toys and nick nacks too. lol.

blue shoes.

Not suede though. I know you’re as shattered as I am. Not bad for $15 though ey, they are actually booties with press studs all the way up the side so you can fold down the tops to reveal the black and white pattern of the lining. :O. I did it the other day but it was the day I was running late so didn’t take pics. My bad. I have outfit pics with these shoes but I really can’t be bothered resizing them to put up here right now, maybe after I come back. I really need to learn to shut up in these don’t I. I will try. Next time.
********************************************************************************************
while I’m here, and since I missed last week, songs for sunday;

I Kissed A Girl - Katy Perry

Violet Hill - Coldplay
Viva La Vida - Coldplay
Kids - MGMT
Mercy - Duffy
Distant Dreamer - Duffy
Oddly bored on my last night in melbourne, didn’t want to go out when I’m leaving at about 6am tomorrow. Got a sudoku book today from work so I am armed with good music and entertainment. Knitting and books already packed. Sorted. And its no longer a skiing holiday, it’s just a holiday during which I may ski a little. If I’m lucky. Little bit sad, but still exciting.
Nice to meet you anyway.

I got…

Even though I leave for a week in New Zealand I just went shopping. Oops. BUT I only spend $20 and I got a hat AND a pair of shoes!!! Pretty good deal. For any Melburnians, check out the revamp of Doncaster Westfield its AMAZING! And it’s not even finished yet, the dj’s [amongst others] isn’t open yet. That Store is a shop full of every brand of jeans anyone would be proud to say ‘they’re so-and-so’. Cheap Monday to True Religion, they’ve got it all. My sister bought some Dr. Denim skinnies, I’ve never even heard of them!!!

Aaaaaaanyway, heres the hat, shoes to follow. Hat - $5 from Just Jeans, on sale, tee from valleygirl [old]. Between outings yesterday, an outfit with the hat followed, pics will be up at some point.

Just so you ‘all’ know, I’m going to New Zealand for a week on monday so if I don’t post before then it’s unlikely I’ll post while I’m away. Internet access will be limited and sporadic and outfits will be repetitive. If anything amazing happens I’ll probably write about it anyway though lol. I’m off to put on some pics on http://www.chictopia.com/user/blog/s_s so feel free to have a look see, I’ll be picking which pics go where from now on. It’s a bit hard to put them up twice though I’ll do it occasionally. Seems I might actually be able to get a couple of comments over there too which is nice! So, nice to meet you anyway.
NOW PLAYING; I Kissed A Girl - Katy Perry. So damn infectious. Be ready for some lingering looks if you sing it in public though… :)

BUTTONS!!!

“excited squeal”!!!!!

So exciting. I don’t think I ever showed you my button hair slides but we’ve moved on, now, we do RINGS. How exciting.

The rings are from a joint called Buttons and Beads Galore or something along those lines, [High st Prahran for Melbournites, near the corner with Chapel] which is a treasure trove though the buttons are RATHER EXPENSIVE. Most of my buttons are from good ol’ Lincraft or Darn Cheap Fabrics and yes. I’m rather pleased with the results. A white apple and a large black one with gold trim coming soon.

WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

My love for buttons is catching up with my love for cupcakes. Yeah thats right, I said it.

I could’ve dragged this out.

But I didn’t so here is one massive post made up of lots of little tid bits from my day.

********************************************************************************************

Wish and you shall receive! There are several cd’s I want at the moment but how excited was I when my mum brought home one of them today*.

Summer at Eureka is Pete Murray’s new one and so far I love You Pick Me Up [single], Chance To Say Goodbye [track 1] and Happy Ground [11 - last].
Funny that I like the first and the last. Good track arranging Pete ol’ boy. Good times are afoot people. update: I also like 6; Sugar.

I included this cause I couldn’t find one of the album
and I couldn’t be bothered taking my own.

That, and its just a cool photo.

*******************************************************************************************

OH and I FOUND MY CAMERA. How exciting. Funnily enough taking pics for this wee blog is not its only use so I am quite ecstatic to have found it. Excellent timing though cause I’m now on swot vac and thus am only leaving the house for work or short unplanned outings. Thus outfit posting will probably be minimal. But you weren’t expecting anything better were you. Today, for example I left the house in my year 12 rugby jumper from school. I know, I was shocked too.
*******************************************************************************************
Currently in the process of painting my nails a sad thing has caught my attention. My favourite nail polish is almost dead. It is a sad day. I think this is the second nail polish I’ve ever actually finished in my life. Its only about 4 months old!. Maybe 5. But still. You know why, its cause its recently become my sisters favourite nail polish too. RUDE. Maybe she should buy the next one. Or if I get a darker one she won’t wear it. I want a darker one anyway really. Yay, problem solved. Not that I can afford ANYTHING these days but OH WELL I’ll just put it on the to get list thats not getting any shorter any time soon.
*******************************************************************************************
Today I…
* knitted till my wrist hurt! Old injury, new aggravation. Damnit!
* did a surprising amount of chemistry revision. I’m the worlds worst studier did I mention? I impressed myself today :).
* made more button rings, my sister got more rings yay, I’ll take pics on my newly found camera soon, my nails are half done atm would NOT be cute.
*******************************************************************************************

RIP YSL @ 71 :(
