So long

GG, you will be missed!

*sigh*. What did everyone think of Serena’s yellow dress with the black accessories. I personally was most unsure about the hair choice. And I’m pretty sure that was wayyyy to fashion-y for a bridesmaids dress. But you know, whatever.
Oh and WHAT WAS VANESSA THINKING. The only thing that dress had going for it, was the colour. Overall, extremely unsure.
I won’t bore you with my opinions on the story line but suffice to say I sent my friend a message at the end saying WOW. However the next day I came to the conclusion they left a lot hanging for next season which is understandable, if slightly annoying.
Ok I’ll shut up now.

Because life isn’t worth living…

…if your socks don’t have cupcakes on them!!!

Gotta love topshop. And I’ve never even been in to one of their stores. It’ll happen one day and from that day on I will be poor. NOTE: the red cherry’s are in SPARKLY THREAD. When my mum gave my these upon returning from overseas I nearly fainted at their perfection. Oh, and I ate a really awesome cupcake the other day, I’ll be getting another one and I shall take a pic for you, they’re pretty cute. But what cupcake isn’t.
Wow, a post entirely about cupcakes Gala* would be proud.
Just so you all** know I’ve been a bit sick all week which is turning out to be some virus that may or may not prevent posting, it’ll probably slow it down and don’t expect many if any what I wore today posts cause fashion is not a priority*** when I feel this crap. So, nice to meet you anyway, come again if you feel like it.
*iCing run by Gala at www.galadarling.com. She has a cupcake fetish also.
**I mean all in the loosest construct of the word. This is me pretending theres actually someone, let alone multiple people, reading this.
***I cannot believe those 5 words left my mouth in that order. Gasp.

oh how I love thee

gg. * Tis sad I know, but what can I do, I’m hooked! I downloaded the two episodes that have shown in America and it was really quite thrilling. Most memorable fashion moment; blair in a yellow coat, serena in red [leather of course] and orange fingerless gloves then chuck walks in in, yes, orange. This particular shade of orange was a little too far in the fluro direction for me but I’ll go with if only for the sartorial pleasure derived from the first three colours on the rainbow. *sigh*

Though on their first day back B wore a purple concoction which made her look, well, a little bit… shall we say rounder than she is? Random! Poor choice.
They’re really committed to Chuck new look aren’t they, I’m pretty sure I saw almost-dayglo yellow pants. With royal purple on top. Wowza. Not bad just, wow.
Oh and Vanessa, digging the mustard dress with the bow at the neck and that shrunken leather jacket! So… fetch! [NOTE: the actress that plays Vanessa, anyone see her on What About Brian?! Loved that show, but then they cancelled it. Sad.]
* gg = gossip girls. though it could [and often does in my world] mean gilmore girls. be aware.

It’s 11:53 pm and when I got up today I had 1450 words left to write for the essays I have due on monday. How many do I have now do you ask? I’d say about 1460 actually. I’m that skilled, I went backwards. Referencing is a biatch incase ya’ll didn’t know that. 11:59. I could do songs for sunday in a couple of minutes but I’m pretty sure I actually haven’t got any new music this week which is A NOVELTY to say the least. I’m always getting new music. Weird.
I’m writing a bit of my essay, it’s pretty taxing lol.
********************************************************************************************
So your getting old music. Doesn’t mean its bad though.
Memories and Dust - Josh Pyke
Anyone Else But You - The Moldy Peaches [on the Juno soundtrack, still haven't seen that film]
Forever Song - Josh Pyke
Hearts A Mess - Gotye [my most played song on iTunes, love him so much!!! Real name? Wally de Backer. No shit.]
I Hate Camera - The Bird and the Bee
Little Miss Pipedream - The Wombats

songs for… monday?

Close enough is good enough people. Yesterday was a blur of nothingness, including the So You Think You Can Dance Australia final in which Jack won [YAY!] and Rhys wore a black blazer covered entirely in sequins!!! Can you say wow?! I can. Wow.

Moving to New York - The Wombats
Love Song - Sara Bareilles [two weeks in a row ooo yeah, I just love to sing along to it]
Four Minutes - Madonna, JT and Timbaland [been into this for a little while but still deserves a mention]
Prescilla - Bat for Lashes
What If - Cog
********************************************************************************************
You may or may not remember a post from a while ago about a white blazer I found and fell in love with but didn’t buy due to sheer impracticality. Guess What!!! I was in that shop today, Temt, and there it was, on the last chance rack. One left. Odds it would be in my size? Pretty much Zero. Guess What!!! It was my size. SO despite my extreme poverty I bought it didn’t I. I’m waiting for my sister to come home and berate me as to its ridiculousness. And then ask if she can borrow it. Haha. Super excited. I even just finished reinforcing the buttons, something I always say I’ll do but never actually end up doing.
In this photo:

Was a bit challenging getting the lighting to work cause there’s clearly a large window not far away but I didn’t want to use artificial light and so heres what your getting. I’m in love with this jacket and the possibilities it brings. I may wear it this friday night, I’m going to see my alma maters musical. Or if I go out thursday, but we all know I’ll just end up taking it off. Will keep you posted. Maybe. I’m pretty sure my track record for keeping you posted when I say that is pretty shocking awful.
*********************************************************************************************
Browsing through a few shops today, Temt, Sportsgirl, a few shoe shops, I find myself to be intrigued by the ‘trends’ I’m seeing. While having surprisingly few strongly negative reactions to any, I’m wholly uninspired. The western shirts seem to already be on their way out, purely due to over-exposure I’m sure so thats over. I did see some grossly embellished boots which made me want to throw up a little in my mouth but even Temt, disposable fashions head quarters, had a surprising number of OK items. Not stuff I’d shell out the big bucks for, but not stuff that you’ll wear twice and then forget about. Quite bizarre. The white jacket shown above is an excellent example. It’s a simple white blazer that will last several seasons… though it’ll probably wear out before I’m sick of it but at the sweet price of $19.95 thats a price I’m willing to pay for less-than-great quality couture. Literally. Ha.
So some shopping tips for yall, if your looking for some comfy cheap knits and tights head on over to Temt. Looking for somewhat overpriced [when you're a starving uni student] but nicer more individual stuff, check out Sportsgirl.
Nice to meet you anyway, thanks to the 4 people who visited on saturday!

today i…

- got woken up at 4.45am by my best friend, lets call her Optus [shes a phone person] telling me her boyfriend had a car accident and she had to go pick him up and take him home and got completely freaked out, hence the phone call.

- rolled out of bed at 8.15 [15 mins late] somewhat confused about whether said phone call had taken place, completely lost track of time and almost, ALMOST, missed my train.

- got angry at/confused by my chemistry lecturer [he's an absolute tool] and then actually took something in in biology.

- actually attended a chemistry tute which was useful in explaining to me how to use Hess’ law which isn’t really a law at all

- met up with the random who picked up my phone at uni on friday and called my most recent call which was my other best friend who lives in bendigo [200 kms away peeps, lets call her LD for long distance], how lucky am I.

- the rest isn’t very interesting, spent time with some friends then other friends, hung at Optus’ house for a bit then came home and, for the finale

- GOT 5 OUT OF 12 ON MY MID SEMESTER TEST FOR CHEMISTRY. No shit. I didn’t really do it properly… not at all properly actually. And I did no revision and it was for the first 4 weeks of uni and given we’re in the 7th… I was screwed before I even started. Really quite worrying, but oh well.

************************************************************************************
I also marvelled at the impressive use of a tripod over at www.fashiontoast.com, I know I link her a lot but they’re great photos even if they weren’t using a tripod. And would you look at her boyfriends arms?! Good lord.

I am now pondering the colour I should paint my nails though I think I shall postpone that till tomorrow night because I’m working tomorrow and thats hell on the nails and right now shower and bed is looking mighty fine. I wore a fashionably uninteresting outfit today while in a massive hurry so no photos.
Oh and, highlight of my day, this blogs had 7 visitors in the last 7 days, how thrilling! Even if you’re a one time visitor, twas nice to meet you anyway.
***********************************************************************************
Yesterday I entered the iCing and ModCloth polyvore competition, mainly because polyvore is just so much fun. [visit www.galadarling.com to enter, the post is a few days old now]. Thought I’d post my set here too, just for kicks.
<a href=”http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?.mid=embed&amp;id=1323597″><img width=”400″ src=”http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/img-set/BQcDAAAAAwoDanBnAAAABC5vdXQKFjRLTUt2N0FPM1JHdjVGMnhTYjdGakEAAAACaWQKAWUAAAAEc2l6ZQ.jpg” title=”modcloth sequin heels set” height=”400″ border=”0″ /></a>

It’s a look, not one I’d really wear, but I love the ombre dress and the sequinned heels which are the required modcloth item. I’ve made a few other sets which I might post at some point if I feel so inclined. Gnight all.

Try As I Might…

…I cannot be a regular blogger. My bad. However, deal with it cause something tells me theres not much I can do it.

“Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months.” - Oscar Wilde.

A little quote, found on Starbucks and Jane Austen [starbucksandjane.blogspot.com]. I love this sort of stuff. *sigh*

This little leather jacket is on my to buy list for winter for SURE. Where is it from you might ask? Why this little boutique store known as Target, theres a few around, you might have heard of it…

Shocked? I was. Theres a similar jacket with a hood in Bardot [below] which I WANT [I know, your thinking Bardot?!!, so did I] but is $299 and yes its a leather jacket but I just cannot justify that at my age, on my income, while trying to save for a ski trip in July. This Target version is a slick $99. Yee haw.

The totally lust-worthy Bardot version. I may have to do an Ebay search to see if I can find one, on my last Savers mission I found one I liked, not really like these, more biker and very 80’s and just a little bit too big which is why I didn’t get it. So my search for a leather jacket for winter continues, I shall keep you updated.

Anyone else seeing the Amy Winehouse influence on the styling of this shoot btw? The other female model used had the exact same eyeliner as her, this models got the hair and similar heavy cat-like eye make-up. Interesting choice of muse, though I guess they look good. I guess.
Catch ya’ll later, if not, twas night to meet you anyway.

On this hallowed day…

February 29th. Happens about as often as I post on this blog. Lol. Not quite but it has been awhile. I blame uni, o camp/o week shenanigans. They are also to blame for my severe lack of sleep and raw throat. Ouch.

However, I have very little to write about as I have made very few purchases recently [tears], and havn’t had the energy to rant. The saving is, surprisingly, going quite well :). However last night I managed to lose my favourite grey scarf and my trusty white cardi got ruined!! Much sadness abounds. However, excellent excuse to buy a new grey scarf. Low and behold, on my break today I went into the shop a few doors down and find a lovely knitted grey scarf, warmer than my old one but thats ok, a perfectly respectable $19.95. AUD ppl. View at your leasure:

note: I’ve been wearing it round the house cause it is COLD in Melbourne Town tonight!

In other news, new favourite blog, check it out: www.fashiontoast.com
Excellent!

Something New

Well, for me. Apparently, I like Karen Walker. It’s really cute, check it out at http://www.karenwalker.com/flash_yes.html [safari and blog.com do not get along.]

its soft and feminine meets rock & roll preppy chic. Awesome. I’m not a fan of ankle grazer trousers personally but to each their own. I now want a puffy electric blue skirt. We shall seeeee.
