mydadstolemycameracord

So no outfit pic. boo hoo. Look at Taylor Momsen instead. Questionable  facial expression, awesome cardigan. In other news, getting sick and tired and  heading towards exams so I probably shouldn’t be posting much which means  I’ll probably be posting more. ciao.

oooooooooooooooooh.

GG is back!!!

Not Gilmore Girls, don’t be silly that series is over [damn shame too]!

I mean Gilmore Girls and… cue age-inappropriate and overtly girlish squeal!!!

So much fun! I had to stop looking at photos cause I was saving too many.

Jenny is SO forgiven for putting Vanessa in that orange montrosity is the season final, she looks Super. Cute. And Serena looked beautiful, her head chain was freaking amazing, my sister and I are looking into a DIY ASAP.

Dan looked hot the whole ep, but I couldn’t not put in what Chuck wore to the white party. A touch of black, daring. Daringly AWESOME. There’s actually a blazer I want at the moment that is…scarily similar. And this last pic is nothing all that special but did anyone else notice that HER bag matches HIS t-shirt. Me think it mazing. Ok steph is shutting up now…

Spotted…

First customer to come into the shop when I arrived at work today?

Jo Stanley.

Ok so there are better people it probably could’ve been, and has been, but people don’t know who authors are and the other shop gets the really cool people. [Think Rob Sitch, footy players, members of the Bailieu family, a guy from Polyphonic Spree (I know!!!).] For the un-educated, Jo Stanley is a radio host/comedien whose also appeared of TV shows like Thank God Your Here.

And you know what, she’s quite hot. I have lusted after the jacket she was wearing for eons [Bardot leather jacket see: archives].
However, she was ALSO wearing The Ugliest Boots I’ve seen in… a LONG time. I’m gonna go all the way and say EVER.
Sort of a cross between this [without laces]:

aaaand this:

Yeah.

you lazy little swine

title cred: Arctic Monkeys - ‘Dancing Shoes’
You don’t really need to hear the thought process behind that decision but I’m quite impressed. I managed to combine shoes and laziness in one blog title.
The laziness refers to the serious lack of posting recently. My bad. Slightly more going on at chictopia. s_s, thats me!
The shoes refers to the fact that I’m currently wearing the heels I bought today in an effort to decide if I should wear them dancing tomorrow night. My heads thinking me no, my hearts saying yes. Who shall winnnnn?

I’m wearing them with socks cause its more comfortable, definitely need tights for the first wearage. This creates a very interesting picture because, as usual, I’m wearing odd socks [I seem incapable of anything but in general] and I needed thin ones so the shoes weren’t too tight. Behold:

The sock on the left was a promotion from work*, there was a book that was called chicken socks and during the lead up my mum[manager] managed to get a pair of socks. They didn’t match, knee high… generally awesome.
The one on the right is from these socks we actually sold** which came in sets of 3 mismatching socks. Idea being you can never find a pair so why bother trying. Genius. Another side of the socks with heels trend isn’t it?
Shoes are from Zu btw, on sale for $50! Not sure what the full price was but I’m not complaining! 1 of 5 items from my shopping spree today, first one in AWHILE, was great fun. Love bridge rd, there was a shop selling nothing over $20. These shoes were the most expensive thing I bought! Wheeee. Ok steph, stop wittering now. *breath* delirious through fatigue, I do apologise. Nice to meet you anyway!

* its a bookshop
** that sells lots of toys and nick nacks too. lol.

I got…

Even though I leave for a week in New Zealand I just went shopping. Oops. BUT I only spend $20 and I got a hat AND a pair of shoes!!! Pretty good deal. For any Melburnians, check out the revamp of Doncaster Westfield its AMAZING! And it’s not even finished yet, the dj’s [amongst others] isn’t open yet. That Store is a shop full of every brand of jeans anyone would be proud to say ‘they’re so-and-so’. Cheap Monday to True Religion, they’ve got it all. My sister bought some Dr. Denim skinnies, I’ve never even heard of them!!!

Aaaaaaanyway, heres the hat, shoes to follow. Hat - $5 from Just Jeans, on sale, tee from valleygirl [old]. Between outings yesterday, an outfit with the hat followed, pics will be up at some point.

Just so you ‘all’ know, I’m going to New Zealand for a week on monday so if I don’t post before then it’s unlikely I’ll post while I’m away. Internet access will be limited and sporadic and outfits will be repetitive. If anything amazing happens I’ll probably write about it anyway though lol. I’m off to put on some pics on http://www.chictopia.com/user/blog/s_s so feel free to have a look see, I’ll be picking which pics go where from now on. It’s a bit hard to put them up twice though I’ll do it occasionally. Seems I might actually be able to get a couple of comments over there too which is nice! So, nice to meet you anyway.
NOW PLAYING; I Kissed A Girl - Katy Perry. So damn infectious. Be ready for some lingering looks if you sing it in public though… :)

With FREEDOM comes Time For Fashion

Exams are OVER and I’m FAIRLY sure my eyes are about to fall out of my head. That’s partially because of hayfever and partially cause I forgot my glasses at my exam yesterday then had to study all arvo for my exam today and and and, you get it.

Most recent outfit pics are over at chictopia*. I’ll put them up here next time I’m really bored or something.
So Resort is a rather befuddling season fashion-wise to me and due to seasonal differences not relelvant now but what fashion is I suppose. Catching my eye so far? Jenni Kayne, Alexander Wang, BURBERRY and Balenciaga.
Is it just me or does Iekeliene Strange look like that chick from the movie centre stage? The prima ballerina, older, she dumped Cooper for the company director.
I’ll pick favs pics for ya’ll at some point but I can’t be bothered to do them all just now. I love the colours at burberry and the accessories of course. The pants at balanciaga, the shapes at jenni kayne. And what can one say about Alexander Wang. I’ll cover him now:

Kudos for the unexpected colour pops. But not particularly fond personally.
Takes a braver girl that I to wear white short shorts. But it looks hot as here, seen on Alana Zimmer. Other model is Regina Feoktistova. They are the only two models in these style.com pics. Odd, no? There is something so cool about A.Wang, though this isn’t my favourite collection from him. I’d totally wear that black dress though, my sister would just about die. I might go show her.
Nice to meet you anyway.

Well blow me down with a feather.

The jumpsuit trend. Not one I ever considered myself…considering. BUT if I were to do so [which face it I'm not but you know, for the sake of the blog and what not] it would be this one.

*sigh*

Spot the Difference

Wittner’s thought process:
“Let’s see how similar we can make our shoes to the top designers without getting sued!”

This isn’t actually the one I was looking for, though I acutally quite like these. They’ve knocked off Chloe [I'm unsure about those] and well, I recognise them as Topshop not sure of the original origin LOL, how sad. I’ll get back to you. Moral of this story though; Pat Fields speaks, we listen.

And the movies not even out yet.

Intersting observation number ?

I’ve realised that several of the earlier blogs I ‘discovered’ no longer interest me as much. With a few exceptions of course but mostly I’m finding more blogs with whoms personal style I identify more and thus I enjoy reading them more. It’s come to the point where it seems the style is almost as important as the writing. Exceptions include Winona whom I read for the writing and Gala whom I also read because of the writing even though a lot of her posts now seem to be advice-centric and often make me feel slightly unwell.

I wonder if this is because my style is evolving or if it’s becoming more interesting. For instance a couple of the blogs I have bookmarked make me think why did I bookmark this? whenever I visit said blog. Thus I have several defunct bookmarks. But I did like them ONCE other wise I would’ve never bookmarked them. This is all rather confusing.

Another thing, the blogs I connect with fashion-wise tend to feature fashion that I am not personally able to wear. For example, Rumi and Camille are both stick like figures whose hem lines dazzle me. They both wear heels religiously, I rarely wear heels even when going out. I’m a jeans girl, neither of those two are. This is all very weird. A blog I find to be most entertaining perhaps, is Lulu’s because the writings great and the style is much closer to my own.

And now, because I’m sure it’d be challenging to express how little anyone reading this actually cares, I shall end this post before alientating any potential readers of this blog. There was one on a couple of different days last week… I got a little bit excited I must say.

So if you don’t come back, nice to meet you anyway. If you do though, I swear it’s not always like this. Really.
