On this hallowed day…

February 29th. Happens about as often as I post on this blog. Lol. Not quite but it has been awhile. I blame uni, o camp/o week shenanigans. They are also to blame for my severe lack of sleep and raw throat. Ouch.

However, I have very little to write about as I have made very few purchases recently [tears], and havn’t had the energy to rant. The saving is, surprisingly, going quite well :). However last night I managed to lose my favourite grey scarf and my trusty white cardi got ruined!! Much sadness abounds. However, excellent excuse to buy a new grey scarf. Low and behold, on my break today I went into the shop a few doors down and find a lovely knitted grey scarf, warmer than my old one but thats ok, a perfectly respectable $19.95. AUD ppl. View at your leasure:

note: I’ve been wearing it round the house cause it is COLD in Melbourne Town tonight!

Something New

Well, for me. Apparently, I like Karen Walker. It’s really cute, check it out at http://www.karenwalker.com/flash_yes.html [safari and blog.com do not get along.]

its soft and feminine meets rock & roll preppy chic. Awesome. I’m not a fan of ankle grazer trousers personally but to each their own. I now want a puffy electric blue skirt. We shall seeeee.

What I Wore Today

And yesterday. And the day before. AND the day before that!! My dad borrowed [read: stole] my camera cable so I have a back log. I’m just impressed I’ve actually kept taking these photos, as completely crap as they are. So we begin with I think it was wednesday?

Jeans by MNG [Mango] the line designed by Penelope & Monica Cruz,
great pair of jeans, a dark blue the colour doesn’t show here cause its artificial light.
I went bowling! Twas unexpectedly expensive but a bit of fun. I’m really crap at it though!

Thursday:

jacket by H&M, present from my newly returned to Aus mother
red button badge Topshop, also a present
red singlet by Cotton On
Jeans by MNG
Boots by Stance
better shot of the boots, they’re tres old but I’ve rediscovered them, yay:

Moving along to Friday:

Ok, the photos Really Bad. But I loved this outfit
too much not to post it anyway, I was in a rush hence the extra bad
photography.
Jacket - lolitta about 4 years ago [shwing!!]
longsleeve grey top - supre
dress - sportsgirl
boots - stance [I'm temporarily obsessed]
bag - vintage

Saturday, finally!:

shoes - Wittner, on sale from $110 to $50 yay, not shown well here there satiny lace ups, super cute.
jeans - MNG
belt - vintage
miffy tee - myer [so cute, and I was going to work at the bookshop, where we sell miffy! Convenient, no?]
bomber jacket - thrifted, bought on thursday, its got a slightly biker feel but the bad lighting doesn’t show it properly]

I took this photo after getting home from family gathering in berwick [read: an hours drive] which I had to drive home from at 1am cause the parentals were too sozzled. I’d worked 10 - 5 that day and the night before got home a bit before 4am and still only got about an hours sleep for cause I couldn’t get to sleep, who knows why!! *sigh*. Now thats dedication.

Finally Finished!!! Woo hoo!

nb. I slept till 3pm today! Sleep deprived much?

Lust Have or Must Have?

Must Have:

Boots from :O Kmart. $34.95 [aussi dollars ppl] and so on trend! A kinda weird height but I’ll go with it, theyll work with jeans and tights and theyre so cheap, I know I could probs find ones I love more for a LOT more money but did I mention I’m saving for a skiing trip in New Zealand?! Yee Haw.

Lust Have:

A jacket like this one worn by Fashion Toast*, this one is Forever 21 a brand I’ve only ever seen in the blogosphere. Also would like for this type of jacket to miraculously suit me. Would be nice. Thats why its a lust, not a must. *tear*. However there IS a cropped jacket by MinkPink I’ve had my eye on…

Or this one, again Fashion Toast, from Nordstrom ages ago. [read: another brand I've never seen in aus and am very sad about]

This whole sock trend, one I shall try, though perhaps peeking out the top of boots or with jeans and flats due to me seldom wearing high heels.

* www.fashiontoast.com, sorry, blog.com doesn’t like Safari much

Buy It Now

The new Marie Claire. The fashion spread is just so pretttyyyyy. The 3 themes are Tailor Made, Bright New Thing and Last Tango in Paris and I can’t find any of them on the mags website!! What the? Tailor Made is kinda cool but not really my thing, Bright New Thing is so bright and awesome I just love it all! and Last Tango In Paris, the models goooorgeous for one, and so are the clothes, the most wearable of the 3. Heaven. Pictured here is the 101 Ideas, City dressing. It’s all rather blah and boring and businessy but this outfit tis quite cute in my opinion. I do like this shaped skirt, despite its current abundance and the bow belt on the jacket is Super Cute! Ookie, ciao.

Note: I love love love magazines!

My Parents: Party Animals

Don’t I know it.

But in other news. I completely exhausted, wrung out, rehydrated and then wrung out again, my list of blogs to visit today. It’s so ironic, one week I can’t keep up with all the new posts by the sweet geniuses, sometimes they simply don’t come often enough! So I visited my favourite blogs favourite lists. That doesn’t make sense. I used the links of the blogs I read, namely Fashion Verbatim, Faking Good Breeding and my new favourite [not just links-wise] Daddy Likey. Twas fun.

Aaaaaaand my blogging wind is gone because a couple of my good friends are fighting and I just got the other side of the story and now I’m bummed. Catch ya later peeps, sorry for the abrupt end.

NB: Re: the title of this blog, I’ve discovered something popular within the blogosphere is to give your posts a name completely unrelated to the contents, thought I’d try it. I did actually say this one today too, how real life. Ha.

An Irrational Craving For Hot Chocolate

Which apparently leads to me creating a new post on this here blog. Yippee. Also, prepare for a first. In the life of this blog there is something rather basic which I have not yet done. Post a picture with yours truly in it. Actually I have but I didn’t claim it as me so how would you know. So here is my very first self portrait post, courtesy of my desire to start documenting my style and my friends quality photography of me at the club we were at last night.

So I’ve clearly been shaking my tail feather all night but apart from the beetroot face I really like this photo! As for what I’m wearing;
dress - hello gorgeous [chapel st]
ribbed tights - target
bag and belt - thrifted, vintage I suppose. [Savers baby]
necklace - from hello gorgeous, not sure of the brand, its a clock inside!
badge - a woman makes them and we sell them in my parents bookshop.
bangles - black: toxic??v. old. yellow: market in hobart grey: myer
ring - Gr0glmann on etsy
shoes - sportsgirl, not shown here, grey leather peep toes.

I was very excited about the co-ordination of this outfit, it all fit together rather well.

Please don’t stalk me now you know what I look like, I just hope no one I know stumbles across this, I enjoy the anonymity of it all. What am I talking about, no ones going to read this, but just in case you did, even if you never come back, twas nice to meet you anyway.
